158.81 crore on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway. Proposal to the center to carry out additional work at cost!
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that a proposal has been sent to the Central Government to carry out additional works on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway at a cost of Rs 158.81 crore and the work will start after November.
CM Siddaramaiah today inspected the expressway near Ganangur village of Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district and received information from the officials.
A speed detector installed with new technology to capture the speed of vehicles has been put into operation near Ummadahalli Gate in Mandya Outskirts. On this occasion, many officials including Minister Chaluvarayaswamy, MLA Ganigaravi supported.
Speed detectors were not installed on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway. So there were more accidents. Accidents are less in July. In the month of June there were 20 accidents, while in July there were 5 accidents. If speed detectors are installed at a distance of 10 km, accidents can be reduced. Chief Secretaries N.H.A. Some safety measures have to be taken on the expressway and that is why the work has been instructed. A proposal has been sent to the Center for undertaking service road works.

Talking about the collection of tolls without completion of the highway, NHIA collects them. He promised to talk to Union Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari when he left for Delhi.
